What these terms cover

These terms apply to this website and to gutter cleaning and related services provided by Bert's Gutter Cleaning. Booking an appointment or having us perform work means you agree to them.

Estimates and pricing

Prices shown on this site are starting prices. Gutter cleaning starts at $199 for a typical single-story home. The final price depends on linear footage of gutter, the number of stories, how safely the roofline can be reached and how long it has been since the gutters were last serviced.

• You get the full price before we begin any work, and it does not change once we are on site unless you ask us to do something additional.
• Booking online reserves a time. It is not a final price — we confirm the number by call or text before the visit, because we have to know the roofline first.
• If we get to your home and the job is materially different from what was described, we will stop, tell you the revised number and let you decide. We will never do extra work and hand you a larger bill.
• Estimates are good for 30 days.

Scheduling, weather and cancellations

• We work in Florida. Lightning, high wind and heavy rain make ladder work unsafe, so appointments do get moved. We will tell you as early as we can and reschedule at the first safe opening.
• Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or move an appointment. There is no cancellation fee.
• We give an arrival window rather than an exact minute, because the job before yours is on a roof we have not seen yet.

Access to your property

• We need to be able to get to the perimeter of the house, and to the lanai or pool deck if there are gutters above it. Please unlock gates and secure pets.
• Please move vehicles out of the driveway where you can. We blow and rinse the drive as part of cleanup.
• You do not need to be home. Most of our customers are at work. You get the photos either way.

What the service includes

A standard gutter cleaning is every gutter run cleared by hand, all downspouts flushed and water-tested, debris bagged and hauled off your property, the roof, driveway, walkways and lanai blown clean, a visual look at hangers, seams and fascia, and before-and-after photos sent to you the same day.

It does not include gutter replacement, full re-hanging, fascia or soffit repair, gutter guard supply and installation, pressure washing, roof repair or anything requiring us to walk a roof that is not safe to walk. We will tell you what we saw and, where we can, who to call.

Safety and our right to decline

We may decline or stop a job if the roofline cannot be reached safely — unstable ground for a ladder, a three-story elevation we are not equipped for, an active electrical hazard, a wasp nest, a roof surface too brittle or too steep to work near. If we decline before starting, you owe nothing.

Pre-existing condition of your gutters

Gutters that are already rusted through, pulling away from the fascia, holding standing water from a bad slope or fastened into rotted wood can fail during any cleaning, however carefully it is done. Where we can see that in advance we photograph it and tell you before we work. We are responsible for damage we cause through our own negligence; we are not responsible for the failure of components that were already at the end of their life.

Satisfaction guarantee

If something about the cleaning is not right, tell us within seven days and we will come back and correct it at no charge. That is the guarantee — a return visit to put the work right.

Payment

Payment is due when the work is finished unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We will tell you which methods we accept when we confirm your price.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Hillsborough County, Florida.
